Our ‘05 Impala’s headliner started to sag and door card started to peel at 15k miles.

My M3’s lack of a tilting steering wheel (this counts as interior right?)

A luxury car. From 1998. With no tilt steering wheel. What the hell BMW?

The fact that nothing in my car even attempts to fit together. I swear those cars came full of rattles from the factory.

A ~2009 Maserati GranTurismo had several areas where the interior leather was just... coming loose.

Maybe they were trying to convince people the interior was hand-made.

I fail to see how the spinny vent thing is a failure. That’s awesome.

How long before that wears down the lip holding it in and beans a passenger?

03-05 Cavalier. If you had a cup in the cup holder you could no longer use the HVAC controls.

Also

2nd Gen Blazer and S10, the rod that was used for seat recline was made out of cheap pop metal and would fail the second you put any effort into them.

Does a passenger’s side door almost completely falling off count? Because I had a friend in high school who had that happen on his ‘97 Cavalier once.

90% of the people I know who have cars whose gloveboxes are button-acuated (as in, it’s not a physical latch, there’s a separate button connected to a solenoid) have had those things fail on them in less than a year of ownership. It’s such a joke. And strangely, they are often on higher-end vehicles…what’s so luxurious about pushing a button rather than pulling a latch? Makes no sense.

Assuming their German car even HAS a cupholder. I had to add an aftermarket one. It’s located behind my right elbow which would be awesome if I was in Cirque du Soleil and had 2 more elbows so my arm could bend that way.

By worst interior failure, you must mean Best Interior Feature!

If my vents did that, I would have hours of fun with it making my passenger’s brains implode.

Also missing in the M Coupe. No tilt, no extension.

The cup holders in my old 540i. I can't even count on 2 hands the amount of times I had a cup flip over and dump everywhere.

Worst interior, period, was a Dodge Magnum RT. Interior quality fitting a 1980s citycar, yet it was a 2006-ish manatee of multiple times the price. I actually literally laughed the first time I sat in it. I do like the engine though.

Any cheap car with this style air vent. The plastic twigs holding everything together WILL break, leaving the vanes pointing every which way.

Hey! My S10 has that lever snapped off as well. Haha. The previous owner left it in the glove box for me.

Mine would be my wofe’s former car, an ‘06 Malibu. The ‘04 to ‘08 (called a “Classic” in ‘08) Malibus were the epitome of “old GM” cheapness. Every plastic trim piece there was broke within a year.

1984 Rover SD1. It was a great driver’s car, and the interior looked fantastic in an ‘80s sci-fi kind of way, but they really phoned it in when it came to quality.

You know the Top Gear challenge where Jeremy buys an SD1, and when he opens the door, the door card stays stuck in the door frame? Yeah. That happened to me.

It also had the least watertight interior that I’ve ever known. After even a light rain, you could count on the glove boxes being full of water (which they would tip out onto your legs when you opened them). Once, and to this day, I have no idea how it happened, I saw water running out of the speaker grilles in the doors. Naturally, all this dampness had some side effects; electrically, it never gave too much trouble, but there were some very interesting ecosystems developing in the footwells.
