It’s that time of year, where the team packs up after months of building and heads north to Michigan. Maybe I’ll post pictures and stuff throughout the week.

Formula SAE is at Michigan International Speedway. Check in starts tomorrow, events run through Saturday, I believe.

You should do it, it’s really awesome.

Wednesday and Thursday are all about tech inspection and “static events” - teams have to give a design presentation justifying how they developed their car, a cost report justifying how much it would cost to actually build the car (remember a lot of teams run on univeristy money, donations, gifts-in-kind, etc.), and a business plan presentation.

So if you do go, you really want to be there Friday and Saturday. That’s when the “dynamic events” happen - Friday morning is acceleration and skid pad testing, and in the afternoon is AutoX. And of course Saturday is the big Endurance race - 24 laps and about 5 cars on course at a time.
