Well, maybe not just the awesome Model S smoky burnout but !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! The short version is that the Federal Trade Commission supports direct to consumer sales. I’m not really sure what kind of authority the FTC holds over state governments but it bodes well for Tesla.

Definitely good news! Though I’m pretty sure that the only people who don’t support the direct sales model are the dealers who make money through unnecessary markup, aggressive bargaining, dealer options, extortionist maintenance service, confusing uneducated car buyers/owners, and generally soiling the good name of the OEM whose name is on the door.
Darn Tesla and it’s reliable, low maintenance product and straightforward purchasing process!

I’m in favor of the Model S, but I don’t want this myth of it being a perfect car to perpetuate.
