If my semi good (not the women lower in thread) looking teacher wanted to “do the dirty” with me in private when I was 16-18 years old, I would have done it and kept my mouth shut tight.

I know its not right in any context, no not everyone would be in the same mindset as me, and yes its rape.... But I would have wanted it at the time and enjoyed every bit of it.

Not getting too far in the weeds, that’s why we have an age of consent. In practice, the age at which two individuals can decide for him or herself, ‘this is something I want to do and I understand what I’m getting into’ can be genuinely different. However, you always run the risk of the 23 year old boyfriend having undo influence and control over the 14 year old girlfriend. That’s the rub. That’s why the law states a particular age. No less.

Then you get beyond that into teacher-student, test scores, yada yada, but that’s the easy stuff. That’s why you get fired when you sleep with your boss. Age has little to do with it.

If you want to really really get into the weeds, in our culture men and socially rewarded for ‘conquests’ and women are hurtfully demeaned if they have too many or the wrong type of partner. I think that’s why so many teenage boys can have sexual relations with older woman and not have a lifetime of suffering/questioning/broken relationships that are the haul mark of a younger girl who has an older lover. (but this made a really really funny 30 Rock episode with Susan Surandon. Look it up). The power dynamic is so different. We (collectively society) assume the boy was chosen by the older woman because he is desireable and a strong candidate for her attention. When girls in the same position are assumed to be weak and powerless. But, this is a big but, like the comlumnist Dan Savage says, we only hear about the times it goes badly. We don’t hear about the times it goes ok. That will take us all the way back to my first paragraph.

Beyond that... hot teacher and my teenage hormones, I bet I could guess my life choices if that presented itself.
