Do any of you oppos own or have owned a BMW 128i? I am considering selling my focus st and buying one of those but I wanted to get some general impressions or thoughts on the car from people with experience with them. I found a nice low miles manual in my area I may check out.
I would like your general thoughts on the car as well as impressions on:
Transmission
Handling
Reliability (in your experience)
Possible things to look out for.
I would post a picture of this ridiculous 1m I saw for your troubles but my phone is being a POS. But trust me its an awesome 1m

I wish it had an LSD, but I’ll be adding that later.

I don’t own one, but I’ve driven two. It’s the last naturally aspirated BMW ever and the last hydraulic steering BMW ever. Also, it will keep up with a stock 135i with some rather inexpensive mods (about $2,000 worth) that don’t hurt reliability or efficiency despite having the lightest production six cylinder engine ever (and one of BMW’s most reliable). They aren’t easy to find with 3 pedals, a roof, and sport package though. If you find a good deal, don’t let it slip through your fingers without trying it out!

A friend has that I’ve put quite a few miles on.
+s:
shifter is fantastic. clutch is light and forgiving.
motor is perfect. plenty of power, still gets pretty epic freeway gas mileage.
seats, interior in general super comfy, well appointed. very quiet.
backseat is usable, and folds down for really epic storage space.
-s:
very quiet. motor noise kinda uninspired.
I hate the way the gas pedal feels. fot a lot of travel it feels like it does nothing, and then it suddenly gives full throttle.
feel heavy around corners. likes to push.
BMW electronics.
overall: super practical, cozy commuter. seems to have epic tuning potential. I’ve ridden in the 1M, and its epic.
