The Bad : There are a few exterior differences that I’m not too thrilled about. For example: there are more prominent side skirts that look a bit odd, the hood vents are a bit smaller, which is kind of a shame, and the rear diffuser is more prominent as well, as it is painted the car’s body color, which also looks a bit odd, but I think you can option it to be black.

EDIT: The larger side skirts and smaller hood vents will only apply to AWD variants.

The Good : Inside, the 2016 F-Type gets some subtle, yet noticeable changes. The quality of the interior remains the same (which is to say very nice; don’t believe what some reviews tell you), but the dials get a refreshed looked and there are more interior options, such as a much nicer black aluminum console trim finish. This particular model is the new for 2016 AWD V6S model. The V6S Coupe and Convertible are the only F-Types in the range to have both AWD and RWD models. It should be noted, however, that the V6S AWD is only available with an automatic. There are a list of other changes to the 2016 F-Type as well, including a wider range of colors, such this new Glacier White (which looks absolutely stunning in person).

The Future: The 2016 F-Type should take sales to the next level. The 6 speed manual in the V6 and V6S Coupe and Convertible will be a hot seller, as well as the AWD R Coupe and Convertible, which should make applying the R’s 550HP and 500 pound feet of torque, safer, more efficient, and less frightening. Overall the 2016 F-Type takes the already brilliant first generation F-Type to a whole other level. I’m hoping to experience my first drive in the 2016 F-Type come August, but for now, I’m dreaming: of once again driving one of the best sportscars IN THE WORLD.

the AWD R Coupe and Convertible, which should make applying the R’s 550HP and 500 pound feet of torque, safer, more efficient, and less frightening.

Uh, you mean should make applying the power much less fun with less driver input needed and less crazy (which we all like crazy here).

I think the new side skirts are an AWD/R thing, only. The V6 is saved.

For real. This bodykit looks too cheesy for this car.

The R needs AWD. I’ve driven the RWD R in the past and it was a bit too much to handle at times. The new AWD should actually send most of the power to the rear and only some to the front if the system detects traction loss.

Jag and Aston need to let the design speak for itself - hood strakes, skirts, fake hood scooplets, bulges - none of those are necessary. If they were necessary, they’d be functional.

Yeah the RWD R has to be one of the most tail happy cars to come out in the last few years. I was just fooling around though, I think AWD will prove to be very useful.
