Let’s patch one huge pothole and leave the other huge pothole just a few feet away. What’s the fucking point? Both holes were there at the exact same time as I have walked through here with my dog all the time.

The patched hole is the huge square in the left side.

Since the patch is square, I can virtually guarantee that the square is not a ‘pothole’ but instead a saw cut in the roadway to repair an underground water main or gas line. The utility is responsible for putting the asphalt back in. They are not responsible for roadway maintenance.

They do this near my house. They do a “good enough for government work” job on one and leave another. A few weeks after buses going over the “fixed” hole it's as bad as it was and the other hole has just gotten bigger.

They most likely only get paid for the pothole on the work order and don’t get paid for non listed potholes. I wouldn’t work for free either.

If on the other hand they get paid for a day’s work regardless then it’s just laziness.

Nah man it was a pothole because up the street they did the same square patch on another horribly big pothole.

The “work order” should be all egregious potholes on that block.

Exactly like what kind of bs is that.

I agree. Its probably private contractors these days, back when it was guys working for a road authority or local municipal council etc the road would have been properly fixed.

It’s what I get for not living in an affluent part of town. Go to an area where 6 figure cars are somewhat common, smooth roads everywhere.

NYC is the exception believe me lol. Even the really affluent areas have bad ass potholes.

Yeah. I never rode/drove when I was in NYC, but I did watch cars bounce and swerve through and around them.
