I played contortionist and sorted out the hood release cable.

Took me about 45 minutes and getting a complete rush of blood to the head being upside down on the driver seat.

Just one zip tie later, the release cable is now secured, as it was just popping out of the retaining clip instead of pulling the cable and releasing the hood. A couple sprays of PB Blaster and now its all good to go.
