...at least I was planning on looking for some previous Mobile Manifold posts here before this. I suppose not having to meet her would be best for everyone here?

I will never listen to anyone over the age of 8 who cannot distinguish between “you’re” and “your.”
But I agree, I’ll choose a CVT over a transmission any day!

You have to try to write that poorly.

I learn something new everday. The Versa is basically a racecar!

Cleaned up the rest of that screenshot.
This is exactly why you READ the one star and five star ratings. So many of them are just nonsense, just like this one.
What do you think the salesman told her about CVT transmissions to get that out of her

CVT could be cool. Think about being able to set your own gear ratios and stops. Then shift between them like a manual.

Probably told her about that “Altima masquerading as a race car” commercial.
![]() 05/09/2015 at 12:32 |

It’d be a shame if someone told her a CVT is still a transmission.

BRB going to tell everyone my sis’s Versa is a race car.
![]() 05/09/2015 at 12:34 |

That would be cool. But CVTs are exclusively used in affordable cars (aka not sporty) so probably not happening.
![]() 05/09/2015 at 12:37 |

Yup. My drill press is CVT. It could be cool in a car, but yeah.

Maybe the sales training litruature the salesmen got said something about it being banned in F1, and Williams tested with it?
Who the fuck knows, but that shit is frustrating.
Someone I know told me his new Mini Cooper 2door is the same thing as a BMW 2 series underneath.
![]() 05/09/2015 at 12:55 |

Any story told by the salesman must be true, they are professionally trained by the company. (just kidding)
As for the Mini, he probably thought his car was on a 2 series platform twisted around.

At her age, yes.

That’s what I thought at first, but the 2-series active tourer is very similar to the Mini underneath.
They don’t sell the active tourer (above) here, but it’s a great line to feed customers.
This is the 2-series naive customers probably assume it is.

WRX + CVT =
No one should ever buy that.

Eh. I haven't driven it, I can't say anything. In theory it could be pretty great, constantly at max torque, never out of boost
![]() 05/09/2015 at 14:18 |

It’s not like a Nissan CVT where punching the throttle shoots the RPM to the redline, the WRX CVT is programmed like a traditional auto so it “shifts”.
![]() 05/09/2015 at 15:52 |

he definitely didn’t tell her about what happens to nissan variants of cvt’s!

well then, the standard mitsu lancer is rwd!!!! all hail the rwd lancer!! lol.. walked into a toyota dealership a while back, told the guy i was looking for a manual, rwd car.. he immediately shows me the lancer (with cut springs, plasti-dipped wheels, and ‘illest’ stickers, so you know it was babied!) as the only thing they’ve got on the lot that fit the bill.....

Yelp is where self-described “witty” people think their casual racism and psuedo-intellectualism somehow makes them God’s gift to the written word.
According to Yelp, you should never have to pay for any car maintenance, clutch replacements can be done without dropping the engine or transmission, and that a “proper” oil change should take thirty seconds since shops almost never have to service other customers at all.
