This guy got the end spot but left at least four feet between his truck and the wall. He should have just taken the spot I ended up using, and next time I hope he will.

I do the same thing as this all the time! Except I have a big truck, not a small car.

The door ding potential there is very high.

Nahh, he wouldn’t be able to open the driver’s side. Plus I always take a photo of the license plate, just in case.

Probably, but he could/should have checked. I actually moved closer to him after my first attempt was a little too near the innocent silver car, so he could have done the same.

Fair enough. I’m that guy who parks at the back of the car park against a curb to avoid getting hit haha.

I’m glad I finally understand your username.
I just think it’s funny to park next to the biggest thing possible

I've had 2 Escort GTs in white. I loved them. My first one which I bought new in 1991 was totaled by a guy who thought he didn't need to stop at a red light. My second 1991 model I bought for $600 and modified it with headers, CAI, and a cat-back exhaust. I ended up giving it to my brother. He blew the engine. Sigh.

Do you happen to remember if the headers were able to be installed without any major shop tools, and without removing the engine?

Yup

I didn't pull the engine. It was pretty simple, though I must not have torqued the nuts and bolts correctly because it took me some time to eliminate exhaust leaks. The tools were pretty standard. It's a DIY, but I did use a lift which made it much easier. I also powder coated the valve covers.

Cool, cool. It seems that the three mods you mentioned are the only ones anyone makes for this engine, and all three could be had for just a couple hundred. Were there noticeable improvements? I have the 1.9 SOHC instead of the 1.8 DOHC, though, so it would be a bit different here, but still.

I could tell. It was the 1.8 DOHC. And it sounded cool. Oh, and I put ridiculous 18” rims on it, for a while, but gave them to a buddy with a Miata.
