Is on Youtube. I can’t believe how incredibly bad it is. I’ve hate watched 2 episodes, me and my room mate laughing the whole way through. Also Westwood is extremely unusual to the point where I wonder if he has some kind of learning difficulty. He may be the world’s whitest man/ man-child.

I’ve actually seen that on MTV, back when I still watched MTV. Note that I don’t live in the UK. It
is
horrible, and that Westwood character acted like a parody. I hope he was in on the joke.

From what I’ve seen that’s actually him, so strange. Apparently Sacha Baron Cohen based Ali G on him because he found him so funny.

Reddit had an AMA with a PMR victim winner and stated how while everything was scripted, only the essentials of the cars are fixed. so as long as the car was safe they worked on the aesthetics and most of the crazy mods (tv’s in the bumpers) are removed after the show.

One day I’ll get a gift card for Halfords and be able to make such a beautiful machine.

I read that, was not in the least bit surprised haha. The UK version is somehow 10 times cheesier than the US version.

Man, I actually kinda love the idea of just buying a really shitty old car for a couple of hundred quid, then seeing just how far I could stretch the exact equivalent of the purchase price at Halfords. I could produce such art.

That’s weird consider our proclivity for cheese.

Westwood is a prize A-hole. I disliked Pimp My Ride in the U.S. but the U.K. version was cringe worthy to the highest order.

Looks like I have something to go watch on YouTube now.
I’m pretty sure the US one started with Xzibit them to Chamellionaire and got way worse. Remember watching one night on an off channel and every time they said MTV it was muted

We need someone to finance this venture. I already have some absolute shite quality parts in mind.

I say we try to find a place for every single badge they sell. I want a Powered By Fairydust Type R Sport Skull Gecko.

It’s genuinely unbelievable that something like that got made. I don’t know who pays for Westwood’s “music” but they should probably seek medical help.

Xzibit was what made the US version watchable. You could tell he was laughing about the cheesy script the whole time.

I’ve always thought that of Westwood. He tries that U.S. ghetto gangster crap but he’s a white English guy from London for goodness sake.

Yep it’s truly bizarre. I want someone to place him in a predominately non-white neighbourhood in America and see how long before they all hate/ laugh hysterically at him. Probably not very long.

Lol, ‘hate/laugh hysterically at him’ OR beat the crap out of him.

I think all of the above. I doubt they’d have a lot of patience for a strange older bloke cynically making money off their culture and acting like a tit in the process.

He was also high as fuck

There was an episode with Arnold Schwarzenneger (I can’t spell that) and he mentions signing a bill to ban weed in California. The look on Xzibit’s face was priceless, he probably had a bag on him right then.

Oh god, yes. I had completely forgotten. This post brings back painful memories. Well, yelling at the TV in disgust can be fun sometimes.

I’m genuinely amazed it even got made. No one at any point thought “hmm, these people ruin cars and can’t act, we’d better not do this.”

For what its worth, I don’t think there’s anything particularly cynical about Westwood. Acting like a tit, sure, its more plain dumb than cynical; he’s got plenty of genuine interest and enthusiasm for what he does, even if he’s very cringeworthy.

Hmm possibly, I kinda got the feeling it’s a bit of an act to cash in.

Oh I remember that episode. It was the one where they actually did pimp the performance for once. I believe it was a Duramax swapped 60s Impala.

Yeah I think that’s the only car they built that I actually thought was cool.
