I was wondering which store does Oppo prefer for parts? Napa, Autozone, Advance Auto, O’Reilly’s, Amazon, OEM?
I usually go with OEM parts for my MR2, mostly since the 20 valve is a JDM motor. For the old Ranger I used to go with CarQuest, but I’ve yet to see one here in Ohio, so I go with Napa or Autozone depending on the part.
I’ve personally had bad experiences with O’Reilly’s parts. Had two bad water pumps in a row and a bad alternator so I try to stay away.
So which do you guys use? Any horror stories or bad experiences?

Online: Summit followed by Rock Auto
Brick and mortar: NAPA for stuff that matters, Advance/Autozone for wax and oil.

Prefer Oreilly because the guys at the local one tend to know cars very well, but be careful with the parts. Don’t buy the microgaurd oil filter for example - they have Wix if you ask.
Most harder to find parts come from Pelican, FCP Euro, ECS, Rockauto, or OEM, depending on brand and price. Regardless of source, stay away from the cheap stuff.

I buy oil and fluids at Walmart because they are usually cheapest. For small or inconsequential things I’ll use AutoZone/Advance/Pepboys. Mostly I like Napa but lately Ive been ordering stuff from Amazon or Rock Auto as well.

Specialist stores for most stuff on the Rover (well, duh), and for a good share of Benz stuff, O’Reilly for most of the expendables (brakes, etc.). I’m aware of the cheap part conundrum, but it’s not like their system doesn’t offer varying grades of nearly everything, and I like the flavor of the local store. Sometimes Advance for filters and/or oil.

If I can afford to wait, Rock Auto. Some times you have to call them to double check you have the right part, but having 24 hour telephone service is nice.
If I can’t wait, Napa.

I generally go to Advance, but I think it really matters store by store.

Summit racing, if you love cars make a pilgrimage to one of their stores, awesome!
Prefer NAPA been going to O'Reilly because its so close and they seemed to be staffed by decent people.
I once went through all 3 available tools they had trying to change my Lambda sensor in their parking lot, returning each one as it failed. The correct answer to the Lambda removal question was 7/8 wrench if you were curious.

My dad has a friend who owns a Car Quest franchise that’s two minutes from my house so we’ve been buying parts from there for as long as I can remember. If they don’t have something I go to O’Reilly’s.
I will never step foot in an Advance Auto Parts again though. The guy who normally works at the one by me is an asshole who's nothing but a dick to you if you don't know EXACTLY what you need.

I always order online from advance. I consistently get 30-40% off my purchase with their coupon codes.
