What other company is on your “IT’S HAPPENING!1!!11!” or “It’ll never happen…oh wait it did!” like Alfa Romeo now in North America?
(You might want to list 2, one that MIGHT be next, and one that SHOULD be next.)
My ideas:
If the 4C ends up being a hit, and if future cars by Lotus end up being a hit, then I really think GINETTA should export to North America. Fabulous looking cars, great performance, real driver-oriented focus. Same for Noble (am I crazy, or am I the only person who can imagine celebrities/the upper classes just swooning over the M600? It would look so right parked alongside other exotica in that fabulous ice blue color…)
It would also be nice if Morgan would type-approve their cars again (I had no idea the Aero 8 was sold for a few years in the USA, don’t know about Canada…)
(I would put Weissmann here but apparently they went under… ;_;)
Now if Alfa’s post-4C cars succeed…is it too far-fetched to suggest a French manufacturer? Maybe Renault because Nissan could help them gain a foothold through the partnership they have? (Could you imagine the Oppo joy from the Twingo being sold in North America? A rear-engine, RWD 4-door car? Wow. Not to mention the high-end Clios and Méganes)

I want Kei Cars here.

The Suzuki Cappuccino and Honda Beat are 25 years old next year ! :D
As for new ones, yes, there are some fabulous ones but I just can’t see them meeting US crash regs…at least with the other cars they can do what Alfa did and just add reinforcement, but I think for the Keis it would require a complete and total redesign that may very well make them larger than the Kei specification.
I mean if they don’t even sell them in the EU, North America seems to be an even tougher proposition ;_;

Lancia. With real cars, not rebadged Chryslers. And Peugeot, Renault, or Citroen.

Packard.
Yes, I know that’s not what your question meant.

Pretty much everything you listed has .01% of passing any crash test we have and certainly don’t meet our regs.

I want a Cactus eHDI more than I should...

Maybe Lincoln could give it a go again.

Renault.

You know, I was going to write this, but then I realized that not even Italy gets “real” Lancias anymore. I think I read somewhere that the entire marque might fold. So sad given their history.
At the very least, Fiat-Chrysler could try to turn them into a Lincoln/Buick/Hyundai Equus/KIA K900 competitor or something? Maybe even go after Tesla?
Fiat = Economy
Ferrari = Sport
Alfa = Mostly sport, some luxury
Lancia = Mostly luxury, some sport (maybe focus on hybrids/electric/wacky tech?)
That’s how I would do it. I think it’s nice.

I’m slightly confused as to how your comment relates to the photos; are you saying that Citroëns would meet crash regs or something? What makes them more equipped to do so than Peugeot or Renault?
The Cactus is a fabulous vehicle. In terms of design, it’s like the Avantime or Vel Satis of this era.

We are getting the Twingo, just re-badged as the new Smart ForTwo. I would really like a Megane though, or a new Alpine.

Sorry, pictures and comment are unrelated.
I want Citroens here. I just think they are awesome “normal” cars.
But Noble, Morgan, Ginetta would need airbags, ABS, traction control, etc. before even thinking about crash testing a bunch for the U.S. market. Hell Pagani didn’t even feel the Zonda here ….
I just don't see those brands making it over here anytime soon.

THIS! They could start by making a successor to the 037 Stradale

I want GM to bring the rest of the Opel/Vauxhall lineup to North America. They can rebadge them as Buick’s and Chevy’s, just bring them. The VXR line is so sexy, just look at them.
Corsa VXR (awesome little hatch to compete with the FiST).
Astra VXR (would give the FoST a run for it’s money)
VXR8 GTS (supercharged 6.2V8 putting out almost 600hp, could help the SS sell better).
