Why buy a $75,000 Alfa 4C when you can buy this instead?

In the style of one of our favorite Jalop writers, here is the used car you should buy instead!

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Note, maybe not this example in particular but nice pictures prove you can get the original (and better IMHO) version of what the 4C was trying to do (not “fool dentists into buying this”) low slung track day/backroad beast.

One should point out that the mechanicals on these might even be more reliable. ‘Yota engine, brah.

I’d purchase it for $15k...but not for $19k.

Yeah, probably safe to say that the Toyota engine is more reliable than a Fiat engine with the boost turned up to “ danger to manifold ” levels.

Why buy either when the Porsche Cayman is available?

I think used vs new comparisons are inane...especially at drastically different price levels.

New for new I would take a 54k Alfa over a 54k Exige/Elise any day.

Cayman’s are good, especially the 2nd gen versions.

In a few years I'll debate. Lotus or 4C? I. Just. Don't know.

The Cayman is a superb vehicle, but for some people they are so common in some areas that they just don’t care.

In North America, particularly, British and Italian cars are quite rare, reserved only for exotic marques.

Yes, but I fit poorly. I fit better in the later version.
