810 miles, 5 days, 4 nights. 140 miles of off road travel, 30+ of those as difficult rated trails. More to come. Back to work, playing catchup

Thanks, not my best toning work, but it was a rush job.

Epic is right. Sadly that epic cloud ended up playing a big part of the journey.

....wanted to, for Secret Senna. But the wife controls the purse strings. It is highly likely that it is still there and maybe after we are finally settled into the new house I can get some spending money for being a good husband and doing my chores. :)

Well I certainly wouldn’t ask you for a gift, but I would buy it from you if you bought it.

I will inform you when/if I get it. Meaning, I will go to the antique shop where I saw it and if it is there I will buy it and ship it to you. If it is not there then I am sorry I missed my opportunity and you are under no obligation to donate. I will at first notify you on Oppo that I have acquired the model, then we can get together on the electronic mail that those dern kids are always using to send naked pictures to each other.

Welcome back! Hope to get a few similar pictures of my new Taco like that this summer. Awesome shot!

That is a great scenic shot, except for that old beater. (lol)
![]() 05/06/2015 at 13:31 |

oh we beat on them. The other 80 had a fender flair ripped off and the FJ with us tore off both his front skid plates.

As long as everyone made it home, right?
I had a piece of a semi-truck tire tear a strip off my crappy OEM plastic running board on I-35 the other day... Not quite the same thing, lol.

I need to do a post as well. Significantly more road miles and unfortunately way less off-road.

what trail?
looks like the white rim
![]() 05/06/2015 at 14:38 |

Kokopelli trail - on the boarder of Colorado and Utah. The trailer was not a welcome addition.
![]() 05/06/2015 at 14:45 |

how much of it did you do?
![]() 05/06/2015 at 14:58 |
|
About 18 miles. At one point (about 3/4 done) and bunch of mountain bikers tried to tell me that there’s no way I’d make it the rest of the way as there was a step ascent at the end of the trail. They clearly had never seen a land cruiser in its element.
![]() 05/06/2015 at 15:10 |

Okay, so you started where we did but turned off to get back on the road. That first part was semi interesting but it certainly got better. where are you now? back?
![]() 05/06/2015 at 15:40 |
|
Yeah it would have been a medium difficultly trail had it not been for that damn Harley I was towing. I somewhat considered leaving it at the trail head and driving back up the highway to get it but was worried someone with bolt cutters would find it before I got back.
Yeah I’m in California now for the summer. The engine swap process is green lighted so that should keep me busy, supposed to get the new engine and trans next week.
