A few weeks ago we had our spring “Rollin’ Up the Blue Ridge” meet/cruise with Japanese Classics of VA (JCVA) out at Devil’s Backbone Brewing in central VA. I thought I’d share some pictures and thoughts with you guys.

Original article is here.

JCVA looks like it’s starting to take off. We had a great turnout for our fourth Rollin’ Up the Blue Ridge Cruise.

For the first leg of the journey, those of us coming through the Richmond area met up at Sheetz as usual.

The day got off to a bit of a rocky start when Corey’s Miata lost a caliper bolt on the way in. Props to the man for working until the wee hours of the morning the night before to get new brakes on his car AND Shannon’s MR2!

When we got to Devil’s Backbone we were greeted by a whole group of Miata owners. They accounted for almost half of the cars present!

Here we are all staged up and ready to roll over the mountain. It was a great group, including Marshall’s MA70 Supra, Adrian’s 135i, Alex’s JDM style S10, an awesome JDM Cefiro, Steve’s S2000, another awesome JDM S13, Billy’s Maxima, Shannon’s SW20 MR2, another SW20 but turbo, my supercharged AW11, Mitchell’s A60 Celica, and eight (yes 8) NA Miata’s.

And here is the turnaround poin

t. In the background you can see the mountain we went over. While we let the cars cool down, it gave us a good time to hang out and get to know each other. Everyone was really nice and I think everyone had a good time. No mechanical failures on the cruise either! Great success!

Our group took up four tables at Devil’s Backbone but we made it work (thanks Sandy for getting us seats!). It was an awesome day and I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say I can’t wait for the next one.
