Think of the most pristine Porsche 951 that you can imagine. Now think of a price that would a reasonable person would pay for it. Okay, now click !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
This 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo is the most desired 944 model. The 1989 Turbo model had the previous years Turbo S options as standard. This included a limited slip diff, adjustable front shocks, larger sway bars, Brembo brakes, and a larger turbo giving 247 hp over the standard 217 hp.
This particular 951 has only 8249 miles, the best original paint that still exists on any 944, and an absolutely insane asking price; $109,500.00 to be precise. There is no question that this car could be a museum piece, but is it really worth the money? Marshall Goldman Motors Sales from Cleveland, Ohio sure thinks so. They have !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for the low-low-price of $39,900.00. Are they being misguided/blinded by the 911 market or is this price justified? Personally, I think it is a crack pipe all day. Cut the price in half, and then we will talk.

These people cray cray! For $20,000 I can get a practially brand new 944 and put in an LSD myself!

It is a crackpipe make no mistake, but it may as well be the cleanest, lowest mileage ‘89 Turbo on the planet; and those, plus the one-year Turbo S command hellish premiums. The other low mileage Turbo is closer to a NP, but no one in their right mind would pay $100k+ for a 944 unless it was something truly exclusive or “specialer”.

They dropped the price $10k since I posted about it . ;)
I wouldn’t take this dealership as anything close to representative of what the actual market is. Hell, they want $69k for this 300ZX .

They have a crap ton of 456M’s for just over the price of a new Vette. I’m intrigued...

My reaction went like this:
“Yep, the ‘89 Turbo is the one to have; wow that body and interior look mint; oh no wonder 8249 miles...that’s very nicOMG ONE HUNDRED NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS?!?”

I am curious what kind of clientele their rotadex has. They have a lot of capital invested in those cars. The prices could be a front to keep tire kickers away. Or maybe they are just batshit crazy with even more batshit crazy clients.

Lord that Nissan is a beaut... If it just had tan interior, it'd be my exact childhood dream car

I call bullshit. As someone who has been watching the 944 market on and off for several years, there is no way in hell you’re going to find a 944 Turbo anywhere near this pristine for $20,000. This is the lowest mileage 944 Turbo I’ve ever seen, with only 8,249 miles on the clock. To break it down for you, that’s about 317.26 miles per year. You probably walk more than that in a month.
This is literally the most pristine 944 I have ever seen. It even has all of the items that were included with the car from the factory. If you look at the interior pics, some of, if not all of the protective plastic sheeting from the factory is still in place. Also, the leather is completely fade, wrinkle and crack-free, and the carpets seem to have no wear of any kind.
Exterior-wise, the paint appears flawless, and there is no “curb rash” on the wheels. Hell, there isn’t even brake dust on the insides of the wheels. This car appears to me to have been garage kept, and under a cover, judging by the lack of fading on the rear spoiler, trim, and the rubber on the rear bumper.
So again, there is no way in hell you’ll find a 944 Turbo anywhere near this pristine for $20,000.
Are they asking too much? Yes. But this 944 Turbo is certainly worth well north of $20,000. The 944 Turbo went for about $45,275 (-tax & tags) new in 1989. If you adjust that for inflation, and convert that to today’s money, that $45,275 becomes $86,212. So, if this were my car, and I were selling it, I’d firmly ask around $65,000-ish. No less.

“it may as well be the cleanest, lowest mileage ‘89 Turbo on the planet”
To be honest with you... Unless there is one that someone bought, and literally never drove, I honestly think this is the cleanest, lowest mileage 944 Turbo on the planet.
I’ve been watching the 944 market on and off for years, and this is by far the most pristine 944 Turbo I’ve ever seen. I was actually kinda shocked when I first saw it, and not because of the $119,000 asking price they were asking at the time. I was shocked by how pristine and factory fresh it really is. It even has some, if not all, of the protective plastic from the factor still in place.
Take a look at my reply to “Alex’s in his heaven, all’s right with the world”...

Did you happen to take a look at the info? All original. 1 of 300 Commemorative Editions. Fully loaded. 920 Miles. That’s about 48.4 miles per year. I walk more than that in a week.

Some one will buy this instead of a Cayman GT4. Let that sink in.

I’d rather buy a really crappy 944, and spend 100 grand on it.
I’m thinking wait until Porsche releases a new turbo 4, and engine swap.

Did you see the price attached to their ALPINA Z8?????
What was once a 128k car, is now almost $400k, holy shit!!!

Well yeah but still it’s 70 friggin grand for a 300ZX.
Seems like basically this place specializes in particularly low mileage examples of cars that are either already collectibles or are going that way, and charging a lot for the privilege.

I agree, they do seem to have abnormally high prices, but considering the rarity of that Z, the insanely low mileage, and all of the options it has, I’m not sure asking $70K for it is all that unreasonable.

I keep noticing the rear license plate is crooked. ;)

I suspect it’s not completely attached... Looks like it’s being held on by one bolt, which hasn’t been fully tightened. They may have put that on there just long enough to take the pics. Incorrectly placed bolt holes don’t sound very German/Porsche to me.

In Germany the 944 is still relatively cheap, even as a Turbo (though not Turbo S). However 968 are getting crazy expensive. I’m not even talking about the Turbo RS but the CS is going into 996 Turbo regions pricewise.
I on the other hand have now decided that next year I will purchase a 944 S2. Though I don’t know if it will be a vert or a coupe.
