Now that the warm weather appears to be here, I’m getting out there more in the Mini. I’m happy to share pictures, stories, complain about repairs, answer questions, anything really!
And people like to complain about the BRZ being underpowered...

I can understand that, but I will personally vouch for him too. I’ve been on here quite awhile and know the sort of people that you wouldn’t want to have authorship. I wouldn’t be looking to rent a house with the guy if he was like that. haha

No worries, I can’t blame you. I’m more of a reader than a commenter most of the time, especially because most of the Kinja network of sites is really off-putting to me. I’d aim to have your biggest complaint be that I don’t post enough, rather than that I don’t post quality things.
Regardless, I can put in my time if needed - I just don’t want to feel obligated to post for the sake of posting.

Interestingly, it’s not really even that close. The 86 is just under 51” at stock height, and the Mini is right around 53”.
It’s a tough comparison to make with this picture, though. The gray BRZ is lowered a fair amount, and the suspension on the Mini has started to sag.
Length, though? The BRZ is nearly four feet longer.

The desire I have to ditch my daily beater and replace it with a vintage Cooper is borderline unreasonable. Then I remember Michigan winters and how I’d hate to subject such a lovely machine to road salt. Which means I keep my no payment 225k+ mile car and stay bored to death behind the wheel.
You put any images on insta or flickr? I dig your shots and wouldn’t mind seeing more that way!

Thanks! I store this all winter, because I couldn’t bear to see it rot away. It’s tough to not drive it for ~5 months, but worth it to not see the salt.
Regarding the photos... I don’t really share too many. I lost my Flickr login a few years back, and I can’t recover it. I did just get a camera (rather than just my phone) so that might change. The first four pictures @chris_k_f posted are the only ones that I actually took myself.
(In case you’re curious, I know the Flickr email and password but without the username they won’t let me log in. Nice.)

Thanks! I’ve been putting quite a few miles on the Mini (double or triple the miles on the BRZ in the past week, actually) so there should be some interesting happenings soon.
