Sotheby’s just auctioned a 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica SWB Cabriolet for a cool $7.645 million, breaking the record amount paid for well... a Ferrari 400 Superamerica. While it is a rather beautiful car, I cannot help think the hardtop has a rather obvious design flaw. Given the price I am sure it is an intended feature that adds to the charm of the car.

I saw this car in person at the auction preview several days ago. It’s fucking gorgeous. And if you don’t like the hardtop (I quite like it, but different strokes for different folks) it has a soft top as well.

The hardtop is beautifully designed, but it’s missing some extra glass that could come handy in a rainy day. I wonder if it was supposed to go over the soft top. Does not look like it could, though.

Ohh, true. They had the windows rolled down so I didn’t even think to notice that there was no glass there.
