I clicked through because I was actually really disappointed (I love the song), and was pleasantly surprised when the video came up. At that point, I realized I might as well sacrifice the 20mb of disk space to make sure that if that actually does happen, I will carry the light into the dark new world.

I’m hoping this post was the first one some FP rando stumbled across after hearing about this “oppositelock” place and just ragequit the whole site.
On a related note I would like to see some kind of data on lurkers, seems like it’s the same 30 people always posting and commenting yet page views routinely number in the 100’s.

Yeah this place is kind of a double-edged sword in that regard, people here are so friendly and accepting that we’ve formed a really tight-knit group, but because of that I can see how it could seem insular and closed-off to everyone else not already in the fold. Combine that with the whole ‘greyed commenter’ thing along with mod-approved authorship (which they’ve seemed more reluctant to give out as of late) I can see how people just stop by for a look without contributing anything.
