I have been thinking this for a while, and being a Jalop I obviously want something with the same degree of sportiness for my partner. For the sane answer I would go for the Golf R with a stick for me, and a Tiguan R-Line for her.

If money would be unlimited, then I would get a 911 Targa S with a stick shift for me and a Cayenne Turbo S for my couple. I mean, I have to have fun when taking any car!

Not that it’s ideal or anything, but my mum drives an E39 530d manual wagon in black and her husband has an E61 53xxx something d autotragic (Yep, he’s the looser) in black. They look somewhat funny next to each other.

My girlfriend and I have discussed this: our ideal (attainable) setup would be something like a Corvette or M3 convertible for me, with an additional quick wagon (maybe an E550) if we have kids. For her, a Lexus IS Sportcross (she loves them, it broke her heart when I told her how rare they were) and a vintage (80s) Japanese SUV or Jeep.

Currently my his/hers garage (what we own) is a Focus ST and a Mazda 3. Very closely related platforms (from before Mazda and Ford split up). Both hatches. Sadly, hers is an auto, but it’s reasonably sporty and has much softer suspension. It’s about the only auto I’ve actually liked, too.

Yup it's the sport awd. It's a lot more fun than the silver car but it get about 250kms less per tank the difference between base engine and the sport is quite large in performance and fuel costs...
