I just couldn’t leave it all scratched up like this when it was somebody else’s fault, and insurance is paying for it.

Dropped the Lightning Volt off at the local auto body shop this morning. They are going to refinish and repaint the rear bumper, and replace the lower cover.
As much as I want to get it back quickly, I am going to have a fun week switching between my ‘73 Buick and MG.

Thanks! I wish it was more fun to drive to work, but honestly sitting in commuting traffic in the thing isn’t very fun. It’s a great weekend car though!

Currently my wish list has a 1970 Buick GS at the top. I’m not sure why they aren’t valued as highly as other big motor muscle cars but they seem like a great car. Maybe everybody has a GSX in their collection and don’t want another Buick.

That’s a pretty schizophrenic driving experience going between those two cars.

The Buick big block makes gobs of torque. From the era, only second to the Cadillac 500”. Modified (like ours is), it’s just amazing. They beat a lot of cars from the day in 1/4 mile racing, and were usually nicer interiors. The Buick racing clubs motto is “Going fast with class”... I don’t know why they don’t have more value either. A real GSX can fetch a decent price at auction in nice condition, but there are many more in rough shape if they survived at all. I understand why the big cars don’t have a lot of value, though - out of style. I still like them.
I’ve had this ‘73 since I got my drivers license in 1989. Somewhere I have a picture of my grandparents standing by the car when it was new... I love the way it rides.
