In honor of the late Top Gear, I feel the need to continue in the legacy of James May and report on all things Dacia. Apparently, they have gone nuts. The once beloved Sandero is getting a hot-hatch RS version, which I think Captain Slowly would be quite skeptical of. After all, not all cars need to be designed at the Nordscheife. But I would absolutely drive the hell out of this thing, granted if I could afford one.
Purported to have a 1.2l Turbo 4-banger, 140ish horses and a 6-speed manual. What’s not to like? Now if only we can gets some up to the States, that would be great.

It’s most probably going to rely on components from the 2nd gen Clio RS. And as far as the engine goes, some sources say like you, a 1.4 turbo, or a 1.6 or even a 2.0L NA. Power is consistant at 140/150 hp. A 1.6 would make sense, as they had the same engine in the Twingo 2 RS, and then it developped 133hp. Also using a 2.0L NA would be smart as they offer one in the Duster, that develops 133hp.
And the car will most probably be reserved to markets such as South America or Russia.

All correct. Reserved for Brazil only at this time.

It’ll be sold in Brazil and Latin America this year, and news from car mags says it’ll have Duster’s 2.0l engine, no turbo, but 6 speed manual box here. The Dacias are sold in Latin America as Renaults.
Congratulations, Renault, for making me desire one of your shitboxes.
