Any State who !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! to monitor a special forces training operation, because Obama wants to declare martial law to take over that state, can’t really be trusted.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I’m sick of the bad name, Texas gives to the rest of America.

Can you imagine a president of independent Texas hold a speech at the UN?

I bet it would be a lot like this paranoid psycho.

Why does his title have to be President? Why not break new ground, and get a fresh name for the head of state. I’d leave it as Governor. Or alternatively, call him Head Ranger.

They’d just beg to be readmitted after 9 years and their economy is non-existent. Again.

No humor, much?

You know Oppo is also about treating things in a rather humorous way. You should know, you’re a mod.

But if we get rid of Texas, we get rid of Austin. If we get rid of Austin, we get rid of COTA.

This is true. Humor was banned in the Great Mod Discussions of 2013.

The loss of a race track is a bad thing, the loss of a race track that close to so many good restaurants is a very bad thing.

It’s a race track. We can build others. Racing series come after the bigger market.

Chuck Norris would win that position all the time.

And he would deport all Asian people. Because they remind him of how bad Bruce Lee kicked his ass.

Like I said, International racing series follow the bigger market. You can keep Nascar and large trucks, and good luck negotiating entering NAFTA again, when you hate all its members.

Getting serious, you need to stop electing crazy people like that into positions of power.

Everyone outside the state is spinning this oddly. He has a bunch of nuts who think something is up. In order to keep them on a low simmer rather than boiling over he asked the state guard to watch the exercise. That keeps the nuts placated and as a side bonus allows the guard to witness the newest strategies and comms tactics so it’s really a decent education exercise at little fiscal cost to the citizens as well.

He doesn’t believe in the conspiracy theory, he isn’t trying to sucede, he still supports the US military...it’s actually a pretty savvy idea even though they royally boned up the PR.

I'd rather break up Texas into five states, same with California and perhaps New York. While I'm at it, statehood for D.C., Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Canada. And the country's capitol moves to somewhere in the middle-ish of the continent/country.

What if instead we just all stayed as a Union, but this time we all stopped using mindless rehashed buzzwords and respected each others differences of opinion? And then we could vote in Congressmen and Senators that were encouraged by their voting bases to compromise, and progress as a nation. People might even want to become more involved in the democratic processes that govern their lives if they had some hope that their representatives actually represented their constituencies and not their highest bidding campaign donors. Hell, people may even end up watching and reading educational, non-sensationalist media to inform themselves, and feedback positively into the process!

One can dream?

Not until lobbying is outlawed, and politicians listen to people instead of corporations. But that won’t happen because everyone and their grandma has a lobbyist.

Kinja'd!!! bhardoin > El Relámpago(LZone) - Humanity First!
05/04/2015 at 00:07

outlawed reformed. Lobbying has its place - no member of congress is going to be an expert in every field. I think in an ideal world, it would be lobbyists from each side would present the facts to representatives who may have their hearts in the right place but not fully understand an issue. Like, I wouldn’t expect a congressman to know the ins and outs of how auto efficiency standards affect the industry. But I would expect and welcome automakers and ecologists to make reasoned arguments for each side to lobby politicians into making a reasoned decision.

The problem is that if lobbyists just pay politicians off instead of convincing them then its up to money and not who has the best argument. Luckily for us (guuh) that’ll probably continue happen for ages, because what politician is going to be able to raise campaign dollars on a platform of campaign finance reform?
