That is definitely not a “2005 Subaru Impreza RS AWD.”
People who illegally import cars are dumb as dirt, CBP will have that one in the next few months probably.

defiantly?

It was imported and registered without trouble from what he said. It’s 48-state legal as far as omissions are concerned and it’s UK-spec so it has OBDII

Well, every once of that except OBDII would be complete bullshit. Like c’mon it’s registered as a Subaru.

Yup. All fun and games until you have an accident and insurance comes to appraise your vehicle.

While the cars can be crushed, it’s 1000X more likely to happen with a VIN swapped cars.

Hngggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

Yup, but he’ll probably get impounded if he ever gets pulled over.

This one (because it’s not plated as what it is), yes. But a state-legal car? Nah, out of local PDs jurisdiction as long as it’s plated with the original VIN

How do you know it’s registered as a Subaru?
![]() 05/03/2015 at 14:00 |

He said he’s been pulled over before.

It may be legal in 48 states, but it illegally entered the country that those 48 states are a part of unless it came in under show-and-display.
![]() 05/03/2015 at 14:17 |

That’s true. I know it’s not federally legal but it does have a legitimate title and registration as far as the state’s concerned.

Carfax.

Wonder how much it took to get out of that one....
![]() 05/03/2015 at 14:33 |

Oh wow....
![]() 05/03/2015 at 14:45 |

And having a title and registration doesn’t make it legal.
