I thought it was due to be released on Friday not Wednesday. Maybe its an early release for preorders/digital copies.

My guess is they’re copying Steam’s preloading feature, so you can play the instant it comes out.

Preloading has been around for ages. What confuses me is when it unlocks. That being the 6th rather than the 8th when the game is released. Meaning that if I preorder and preload I should be able to play the game 2 days early which is odd.

And under “Release Date” it shows June 5. So that’s odd, too.
I just looked it up, and it’s available midnight on the 7th. Maybe there is some funky time zone stuff that Xbox is confused by?

Nah, it just that everywhere else on earth uses the correct system of day/month/year.
