It is more for looks. But it wouldn’t be useless in a roll.

We may have to agree to disagree.
Unless it’s very securely fastened or welded to the truck’s framerails, and is a fully-welded one-piece bar, and is made of appropriate steel of sufficient wall thickness, then it’s just for show.
If it just bolts through the bed sheet metal, or is a multi-piece bolt-together affair, or is made of weak or thin-walled steel, it’s not going to make a lick of difference in a rollover. Zip. Zero. Zilch.
But it does look cool. Throw some KC Daylighters on there.

It’s welded one peice and the steel is pretty thick. I’m only bolting it to the bed though. It’s more of a showy truck anyway.
