I’m sick of seeing house, after house after house after not a house after crackhouse after crack den after house. Where I currently live there’s absolutely no open space at all. I’m not even sure why that bothers me, but it does. It’s strange how it feels like there’s no escaping, since I’m surrounded by miles of the same shit.

Kinja'd!!!

I’m so desperate to ditch the DC area, it’s not even funny.

Would you prefer buildings?

Reminds me when I went looking around estate agents for a house with period features (my ex-girlfriend hated that I caller her that). :)

I don’t get it. You don’t like house after house after house but that’s exactly what it’s like here!

Well, in a used Audi wagon, consider yourself lucky to make it to 10 states.

It’s just my particular area that I hate with a passion.

You got a place to stay when you come out West.

I could hit up all 50, and break down in every one of them!

This seems like a good candidate! It sure as hell needs a lot more than turbo work!

I moved out of the city, and to the border between suburbia and exurbia. I have an acre lot, great neighbors, and a cul de sac.

And they don’t care that I have 4 cars, a motorcycle, and a trailer parked in various places on my property.

They even come over to help when I get my truck stuck in the backyard, and we get chains and comealongs out and pull that sucka out.

Haha, appreciate it man!

Sadly, I’ve got a few more years to go. The PNW is beautiful though, spent some time with family in Portland and went up on a day trip with them to the Skamina Lodge. Great view from there.

Sounds like a pretty good balance, I don’t even know my neighbors. I’d like a good amount of property though.

Well, there's always Nevada...it has no houses for long stretches of road...or Florida with crazy people and lax car registering rules...

The only thing that I can’t park in my driveway just yet is an RV. Of which I’m considering ditching the “Buy a diesel 3/4 ton 4x4 pickup and enclosed trailer” and going with “Open trailer that I already own hooked to a 31 foot Winnebago”

Because track day drivable hotel, brah.

Haha, that's awesome. Get one of those Triton V10 Ford campers and hook up.a trailer!

Exactly the plan. Winnebago goes all safe and shit saying “5000lb trailer tow limit”, but we all know it’s all about tongue weight/GAWR rear/GVWR/GCWR.

It will tow a 7000 GVWR trailer with 10% tongue weight. It just means I can’t load all sorts of random crap that one would find in a camper with kids or stuff.

Also that means a portable generator that could be used to run the air compressor, which could be mounted in the slide through storage.

Get a Tesla battery for that haha

We all know that Winnebago is playing it too safe with that tow limit though. I always thought it would be awesome to take one of those old 5 speed manual Crown busses and turn it into a track hauler/sleeper combo.

That is a beautiful area - my in-laws live about 30 miles east of there. Hwy 14 on the north side of the Columbia definitely should be on any opponaut’s list of roads to drive. An abundance of wide open spaces.

Nah, get a gas generator built into the RV, and run your 10 gallon air compressor off that. Instant track support vehicle.

Tools in the slide storage on the outside, clothes inside, and away you go.

I’m not remotely ready to do a bus conversion on my own.

Southeast D.C.? Cause I’ve heard about crack being sprinkled on toast there.
