Assembling this will be my project tomorrow. I’ve done about as much as I want to do outside on the M3, so now the M5 loses its space in the garage and has to sit outside... in the elements. [Sad Face]. Of course I couldn’t leave it completely exposed, so I bought this to provide some protection.
So hopefully on Sunday I’ll have the M3 up on jack stands in the garage, begin to tear down the suspension, take out all the windows, remove hood, remove trunk, remove front fenders, and get ready to pull the engine/trans. Then I can finally get the chassis off to the shop to get the bent wheel well replaced, check to make sure everything is straight, and get the cage fabbed up. So maybe I can finally get it out on the track this time next year...
A requirement for my next house is a proper 3-car garage (M5, wife’s car, race car). 3rd space needs room for a lift. Ah, dreams...

pretty cheap for a canopy that size... remember to anchor it well! The open canopies are a bigger blow-away hazard than the closed garages because wind can get inside them like a giant umbrella!
You should have one of these on EACH leg (so, 8 total).
(not that particular brand necessarily, but you get the idea...)
DO NOT TRUST THE INCLUDED SPIKE ANCHORS TO HOLD IT IN PLACE, especially if you have a valuable vehicle underneath it!
*if you’re in a not-very-windy place you can probably get away with 15” anchors...

I had this for a while when I was living at my inlaws. I had to park under pines trees, so this was definitely worth the investment.

I have those for one side, then concrete anchors for the other. Yeah, really don’t want the wind to pick this up and scratch/dent the M5. I’ll be going overkill on the anchors.
