Well I’m on my way to work and my car starts dumping steam. Not overheating yet so I just pulled off the road immediately. My radiator is now leaking in every direction. Good thing I have the replacement radiator with me but I would rather make it to the shop first where I do work on my car. I have all the tools with me but I would find it much easier to do there. Now I’m just waiting for the car to cool so I can get some more coolant in there and hopefully limp to the shop before the coolant runs out again. It’s only 7 miles so I think it will make it. I have two fill gallons of Coolant so I think I can, I think I can. Ugh what a start to the morning.
Update: made it to the shop! I'll be doing my day of work and then fixing this car in the afternoon!

I would just hit it with water if you have that instead of wasting coolant that is going to get dumped anyways

Yeah, I found out that it was not actually even leaking much coolant. The radiator was pretty full, but it was just leaking out steam (and a small amount of coolant). So I didn't even have to refill it. I just kept it moving when possible for max air cooling, ran my heater as an auxiliary radiator and turned the car off at some traffic lights. Good thing is my shop is located down the street from my work so I will just leave work early and head over there. Radiator and thermostat replacement should be pretty straightforward.

good deal! Glad you made it okay, you did everything right there!
