I’m already in a club (old Oppo club, IIRC) and I don’t remember my gamertag at the moment. Toss me yours and I’ll hop on the Xbox tonight or tomorrow and add you so you can invite me come race time, if I’m around.
Thanks for the link. We raced similar cars in Oppo in the past so I may have something that fits the bill already built. I’ll look around and try to build something if I don’t have it.
I’m usually a clean racer, Robored might be able to vouch for that, we’ve raced before. Online I usually keep the braking lines on so that I can acquaint myself to each track quickly (I don’t prepare much beforehand). This also keeps first corner mishaps to a minimum as I won’t be the one to brake late and smash the field.

Sounds good, I’m mackleroy45. We drive no differently than Oppo’s old series so you’re fine there, that was just for the new dudes who didn’t really know how we raced. As far as preparations just build/tune your car to the lap time and you should be good to go for this weekend.

I built a b450 GTA that I got around in 2:10.9 in 8 laps. I might be able to do better but I was pretty happy with that lap and I doubt I’ll best it in a racing situation.
One thing I’ve noticed with the race tires and full tire width is that the tires never really get warm. :/

Good choice with the GTA, that’s what I use too. You could probably add another engine mod if you really wanted to, 5 or so HP should get you right in line with the time and there’s about a half-second of leeway if you do end up running a bit fast.
Yeah, not sure why stock tire temps don’t really get all that high. From what I understand a lot of other people turn up their pressure (not sure to what) to alleviate that, could be worth spending a few minutes before the race messing around in the tuning file.
And I’ll send a FR tomorrow and get you in, sorry about that.

It’s simply too much tire for the car, it’s not heavy or powerfull enough to work the tires hard enough to get them fully up to temperature. I suspect with a little less tire width it’d be just as fast because you’ll actually be able to use all of the tire. It’d be even faster if you add power to bring the PI back up to 450.

Gotta say, being the overall points leader just feels right. Good thing we had that restart, otherwise I’d have been pulling in 1st place points this week! You should throw a little more power at your car, throw your driving skillz pride aside, and make these last few races interesting. Not too much power, just a little so I don’t lose you on the straights :D

4pm every Saturday, mark your calendar, set a phone reminder, whatever you need to do man. Missed a good one too, 1st/2nd was decided by less than a second and 5th/6th was less than 0.02 seconds apart.

Honestly if I hadn’t caught the sticky grass on the 4th (?) lap I might’ve been able to keep up with you, if not stay ahead. And I dunno man, I’m going to throw as much power at my car as it takes to meet the target time, not any more. Figure if anyone follows the rules it should be the guy who makes them, right?

Yeah, I get what you’re saying.. what’s strange is everyone seems to build cars to the target time and then seems to eclipse it by at least a second when its race day. Not sure if that’s an effect of live game-play bringing out the best in people or what it may be.. though in the A550 series you don’t seem held back by your cars PI like you do in the B450.

Yeah, in hindsight I should’ve done something like mid-tier tire width for that reason. I didn’t really notice until we had the rules and stuff all drawn and no one’s really complained about it so we just stuck with it. To be honest, I actually kind of like having these cars be a little loose; our GT car series last year was just kind of a point-and-shoot affair so having cars like this that require a skillful driver to lap quickly makes the racing that much more interesting (like today when Desu got sideways on the last turn of the race, which is how I came from so far back to finish <0.02 seconds behind him).
Also did anything happen to you in the race that caused you to fall from 1st to 4th? Anyone driving aggressively, bumping into you, etc.? We try and police that as much as we can so if it happens let me know and I’ll give the guy a warning or something.

I think it’s largely due to drafting but I really have no idea, seems like there must be something else going on besides that. Could also be people fudging the numbers on their builds, too, not going to pretend like that doesn’t happen.
Thing is in the A-class cars I’m at the same HP I would be at 550, all I need to do to meet the times is take the tire compound and width down to set a reasonable lap time. In the Alfa I’m missing around 30HP from B450 spec so you probably have around a 50HP advantage on me in addition to being on wider and stickier tires. If I add any HP it makes the times basically unreachable for the slower dudes (in the beginning of the season I was at like C470 while setting lap times so I’ve actually added back a lot of PI anyways).

Yeah, with the TwoFive’s such little weight and power seems to emphasize changes, compared the TransAm where you can do a lot to a car and not get much in the way of improvements.
How do you think the Nurburgring is going to go?

Nah, nothing that wasn’t my own fault. I think was lagging a bit all race but after leading most of it I made a couple of mistakes and was caught by the second place car. Lack started getting worse and I was focusing more on keeping distance rather than lapping quickly to keep from lag jumping into someone while defending. I ended up shuffles to 4th in doing so and in the last go through the chicane I got lag jumped into the wall. I’m kinda surprised I stayed in 4th actually.

It’ll be interesting; the Nurburgring is so big we won’t be able to set an exact lap time like we had so BoP adjustments might be a bit skewed. Then again, the dudes who have such high PI probably aren’t all that great of drivers anyways so their mistakes might cancel out any advantage they have. Other than that it should be fine, though, I’m actually really looking forward to that race for both series.
