It’s an Edition 1 so the spoiler is fixed, regular GTs have retractable spoilers.

Are these sticky out things in the bumper an American requirement? Other markets don’t get them.

Are you going to get to drive it around the block?
![]() 04/30/2015 at 19:37 |

Any issues yet? Two of two deliveries on the AMG Private lounge had to be towed back to the dealer for separate software/control unit issues.

Never understood why cars need these two “bumps” around the license plate.
![]() 04/30/2015 at 19:42 |

I thin k(?) there are lights in there for the plates. I’m most likely wrong.

It’s called Brilliant Blue, if you’d like to do some additional research.

License plate lights and additional protection to meet US safety standards specifying that a car should be able to take a 5 mph love-tap without damage.

America: Land of the free, home of the 5mph impact bulge.

That’s an Edition 1, fixed wing. As others said the later ones will be retractable.

Like when it depreciates 20% when the owner drives off the lot and then the car throw an error message before he gets on the highway? :P I kid, I kid.

Any experience with the w205 C? I’ve been keeping up on some forums and there seems to be a bunch of issues.

it’s pretty neat. I’ll have to give it a quick spin around the block one day

Did you get tired of paying for tools, or was it just too physically demanding?
I’m only about three years into being a German mechanic, and it sucks so bad just starting out. Thank god for the Matco student discount, but I’m seriously considering changing over to being a service writer.

Nothing wrong with wrenching. I do side work at home daily. Even at work now if a car needs to go at any brand, i’ll go and help.
At the time, my dad’s commercial A/C company was backed up and my boss let me leave to work for my dad until everything got squared away. After a year tho, he hired a new tech. When things were caught up, a position in parts was the only thing open.

How do you like working at home making your own money compared to at the dealer?
If a tech position opens back up do you think you’ll go back or stay in parts?

Since it’s just a bunch a little maintenance work, it’s only to make a little extra cash. Can’t even begin to compare to dealer work and income. I was offered head Lotus tech not too long ago but turned it down instantly because of the horrors that is Lotus Cars lol. If something at Volvo or Merc opens up I’d give it a thought. Parts is fine because it’s constant (salary). But it’s boring as fuck. It really evens out as far as what i’d like to do. Either is fine :]

Has there been talk of techs going to hourly in your neck of the woods? For years I’ve been hearing this, but I think dealers are still flat rate. I think almost every independent shop around me (north of LA) is hourly though, even super busy ones.
