I also find them somewhat surprisingly hard to like, which is strange because they were popular enough to be made for ages. That being said, I have driven one, and the smoothness of that V8 was superb.

For me, they are a little too new and common to really be classics, and the styling that I like on the big W126 doesn’t translate as well to a smaller sports car. I just find them...boring.

I think it’s the wheels. Those wheels make any pre-2000 Mercedes look amazing.
