The bandaid is for my bumper because a rock hit and cracked the paint in a nice little spiderweb. $150 to respray or $3 for a comical decal.

Also NERV because NERV. They had the “God is in his heaven. All’s right with the world.” but I didn’t want someone keying my car because they didn’t understand.

The nerv decal comes from an anime called Neon Genesis Evangelion. Without getting into a 5 page report on the symbolism, ideals, happenings, etc - The shortest answer I can provide assuming the audience has no prior understanding of NGE is that God is in His heaven, therefore man is free to explore and experience the world on their own. He’s there, we’re here, so everything is ok.

(In the NGE universe however this is used as an ironic phrase because the world is far from OK as the heavens are intruding heavily on the world... Things get deep.)

And thank you for not keying my car or else I’d need more bandaid decals...

Etsy is the way to go. Though one of these days I should buy a vinyl cutter and make Oppo/car/tuner related decals and become a millionaire. That’s totally how it works right? ......right?

Yeah but its so much more twisted than that though. That makes it seem like God is just a selfish being that got tired of the game and hit the reset button. When in reality he’s testing man kind via the angel assaults much like a kid with a magnifying glass with some ants - he knows the outcome but does it anyways. He knows the fault of man, much like bating the ants to follow a food trail that ends in firey death from said magnifying glass.

I had a Hello Kitty bandaid on the smashed right rear quarter panel of my truck for 9 months, until I could afford to fix it. I got a lot of laughs and compliments for it. What was amazing is a regular bandaid actually stuck for that long, even through a Chicago winter.

That brings back memories. On my ‘95 Monte Carlo, I had the NERV parking permit window sticker that came with the first volume of NGE: Platinum collection on the quarter glass. The car I replaced it with, my ‘01 GTP was vandalized by my ex’es new boyfriend. He stabbed my trunk with a knife. I covered it up with bandaids until I had it fixed.

Evangelion actually sounds familiar.. I need to find this Anime. It sounds very very interesting. Reminds me in a very distant way of Ghost in The Shell, although its not related at all really. Damn, I need to watch some anime again.

Ghost was pretty amazing. NGE is along the same side where it really makes you think, but you have to watch it twice to catch everything you missed the first time then go “oooh... Ohhhhh!”

That’s exactly how it was for me when I saw Innocence, it still blows my mind and gives me shivers every time. And I also miss Hellsing, with the ever-famous Allucard. I think I know what I’m doing this weekend...
