I got under my truck this morning to check it before class. We have had some torrential rain as of late, I think that knocked my half assed repair loose. There is just RTV over it, but I will remove the sensor and put teflon sealant on the threads at my next oil change in 900 miles. But for now, I’m gonna grab some more brake cleaner on my way home from school today, remove my previous RTV job and reapply it tonight. No driving till tomorrow afternoon, that will not be fun.

My oil leaks never went away.

For every one I fix, 2 more pop up. I am trying to plug them all. This is what happens when you own a 21 year old pickup with 21 year old rubber hoses, seals and gaskets. Eventually I’ll have to do the head gasket and valve cover gaskets.

Or you could just, you know, keep adding oil. You’re never going to stop all of the leaks. The other question is what weight oil are you using? Alot of older engines specify heavier weight than what’s normal now and are weather dependent. I’ll stop bad ones every once in a while on Charlie, but it’s always going to seep a little bit, and I’m fine with that. I also love how the oil stains all over the street piss off one of my annoying nosy neighbors, so there’s that.
