I’m a 34 year old male, no children.. Yet kids seem to love me, doesn’t really matter if they are four years old or six months old, “Uncle Laird” is the guy they love.. he’s funny, he’s calm, he’s the guy who’ll comfort them when they cry.

Strange ain’t it.. you’d’ve thought kids would prefer mom or dad right.

That’s the way it used to be with me before kids. I guess it still is but now I have kids Too. Fun isn’t it. Exhausting but fun

Kids love a well-spoken Goatee.

It is fun indeed, and exhausting at times :P I just don’t understand why.

Same here. I don’t get it. Must be some type of aura we put out that they gravitate to. I’ve had strangers(kids) run up to me like I was their dad coming home from work.

Yet I love kids & they love me but for some reason we can’t have any(still trying).

Kids like the cars I drive. The W123 300TD sounds like a dump truck and my Porsche is loud and orange. The funny experience I had was littl kid in my friend’s neighborhood freaking out when the W123 drove by. When I drove by a second time on my way out, he had brought his mom out to see it.

If I’m honest I know why though. It’s because I’m calm. I never shout, I never freak out if kids are near. I’m what you’d call a pillar. A crying kid? Well, let’s talk to him/her and calm “it” down.

My nieces and nephews love me because I have all the dangerous goodies.

Hehe, only goodies I give them are baby carrots. But they love them.

I’m slightly younger (no kids) and I’ve had this at least since I reached puberty. Oddly, I’m not that fond of kids as a rule and adults tend to find me very intimidating, yet kids are just fascinated by and don’t fear me. When old enough to talk, they also tend to be quite excited to see me again. Never understood that.

It’s hard when random kids take an interest in you due to cultural distrust of men around kids. I’m worried that one day someone will accuse me of doing something bad to a kid due to this fascination they tend to have. :-(

Yeah, the whole thing with random kids is a bit worrying for me as well.

Probably because you *look* approachable and are funny/enjoyable to be around.

The fact that my hair often is pink, blue, yellow or some other strange colour may or may not have something to do with it as well ;P
