Dealt with a friend that... Was a bit odd. He wanted to look for a cheap, reliable sedan for less than $15,000 and despite all I could say, he strangely denied all of my suggestions outright and said (in his words, “as a fact”) that he thinks Volkswagens are reliable and long lasting (his last VW went to the shops 20 times. I don’t know how this happened.) Dear Tom...

I wonder how you would deal in this sort of situation? Was it a good idea to jump ship and clean hands?

But Tom is also a VW owner. He might give you skewed information.

Sometimes people who ask your opinions about things they want to get actually just want you to confirm the decision they already made in their head

my advice? never give car buying advice. Tom gets paid to find people a car they probably already know they want, even if its a dumb idea.

That’s where Tom knew he had fucked up.

Liekk, I mean it does take a certain level of enthusiasm to maintain a 1.8 equipped car. Especially a Beetle. If anything, a 2.8 equipped B5/B5.5 Passat would be a reliable Volkswagen.

All he wanted to hear from you was your agreement that what he wanted was good.

There is a reason I bought a new VW with a full warranty. I would tell this person to buy a Camry or spend half his budget on a VW and the other half for emergency repairs.

Also...I don’t visit Oppo as much as I used to so if any one has a question or an Oppo post that I can answer please email me the question or the link and I’ll be happy to respond.

VW Beetle hu.

Hey VW answer me this. Why does a window motor need 20 pins? Is it supposed to go up, down, forward, back, rotate, lighten, darken, wtf?!?!
