I had to do a film review for my film class and present it in front of my class. Anyways I did Spirited Away because we had watched it in class and gives me an excuse to talk about anime without revealing I’m a massive anime nerd. Well about two minutes in a girl in the front row started complaining in the middle of my presentation because I said “at times the animation could be choppy”. She then just about flipped a damn liver because I said that there is more lip-flap than what’s in digital animation. You should of seen her face when I said that the love intrest with Haku felt completely forced and had almost no substance to it. No joke guys, was almost killed by that face of pure hatred. I totally deserved it though, because apparently “I don’t know anything about Japanese animation”.

P.S. I do love Spirited Away and you should totally watch it if you haven’t

Question: Did you also feel it was a movie that you should only watch once? Spirited Away left me with just enough closure that I don’t feel a yearning to rewatch it again. Also, B5 A4! Did you at least talk about that?

No, not really. I felt like it was a very nice story that gave good closure and do not think it needs a sequel. However I’ve re-watched it more times than I can remember. Also I did talk about the A4! Also I’ll publish the review (all 9 pages of it!) after it’s been checked for plagiarism!

Kind of a broad generalization you’re making there. By that same logic Movies are nothing but people sexing each other in the booty hole because Porn and Movies are both recorded on video cameras. All car people object women because there’s picture of women in skimpy outfits on cars. Therefore all car people= people who don’t regard women as people.

Anime is a entertainment medium, not a genre.

No, Miyazaki thinks the culture of Otaku is causing shitty pervy and pedophilic animation to be made, not that all of it is. I agree with that sentiment 100%! Also don’t think I disagree with you that a decent amount of anime isn’t “vapid, pedophile bullshit written largely by people who have no idea how human beings actually act/communicate.” I agree with that. And we have the oktaku culture to blame for it. I mean it’s a generally accepted fact that 90% of anime is shit. However just because human centipede is extremely gory and disgusting that all movies are. Just like how some anime may have some pedophilic stuff in it that every anime does.
