Am I correct in assuming the Golf Sportwagen is only available in 1.8 petrol and 1.8TDi?

Lighting package is a must. Overall, not a bad price. It should be a really good car given how much people like the normal Mk 7 golf.

I just wish the TDI had a cloth interior instead of that fake-leather nonsense.

Took them a while I already saw them at the dealer. Must say it is quite attractive!

Oh, okay thanks. I could only see ‘1.8 T’ and ‘TDi’. Its not a large engine range by any means but I guess its a start and to work from there. Though admittedly the 1.2 and 1.4TSi and 1.6TDi wouldn’t be a big seller in the U.S.

They used to sell the 2.5 5-cylinder up through the 2014 model “Jetta Sportwagen” along side the 1.8 and 2.0 TDI. VW really only sells 4 or 5 engines in their cars in the US. The N/A 2.0, the 1.8T, the 2.0TDI, and the 2.0T in the GTI and GLI. There’s also a V6 in the Passat.

I know Mexico gets the 1.4TSI, not sure how’d it’d sell here. We like our torque here and that’s been an issue with the Fiat 1.4 in some cars here.

The 1.4TSi is quite a common unit in the Golf as well as the Seat/Skoda family of cars. Ours is the equivalent to a VW Passat estate and it has the same 1.4TSi lump as the rest of the VAG family and its a great engine. Its not going to win any awards on acceleration or anything but it doesn’t want for anything just a good honest engine that can plod along at motorway speeds all day every day.
