Not much to report, really. The Civic was gone when I left for work the next morning. I heard no signs of a tow truck during the night, though I can sleep through almost anything. I don't know if it was removed by the owner or condo management. The old engine was still lying around, but by the time I got home it was sitting by the dumpster. The bicycle racks were also straightened out, along with my own bike. Unfortunately the potato chipped back wheel thanks to the snowplow was still there, too.
I wish I knew if the ending was happy or sad, but I honestly don't. All I know is the car is gone, the area neatened up, and the timing belt is still on the old engine when it probably should've been repurposed toward holding that dude's pants up.

if you've got the means you should drag the engine to a scrap yard, they'll give you a few bucks for it!

It could've been stolen as well, like most riced Hondas do.

"By the dumpster?" Um...really? Are the garbage guys supposed to haul that 300-400 lb lump of metal away? Damn, I guess the supposed engine swappers won't be the only ones to have slipped discs when they turn 40.

Dang. I hope they did it. I hope the video appears on youtube. Maybe they'r edoing a series where they take very boring, regular cars and show you how to do ultra sketch DIY repairs and give comedic insight to it all. "MightyRegularRoadkillCarMods"

I've seen some stuff left by that dumpster before that should never go in the trash, but this wins a prize.

But the scooter is still there!

It would be a fantastic waste if it did end up in a landfill. At least take it to a scrapper and have it melted down...

I'd totally watch that! Some of my past repairs would totally qualify.

I haven't seen any cops around, either, but who knows...

The day I got my old audi home I had to ziptie the (wrong) replacement coolant tank to the side because the cooling fan chewed into the coolant hose under the tank. Oh the idle stabilizer valve gave out so I had to hold idle by hand. Then the wipers stopped working in a very specific way - the wipers just would not work on the lower half of the driver's side. The upper half and all of the passenger side were fine so, of course, when the thunderstorm rolled in, I drove it from the passenger seat.
...This is a good time to mention that this was my first time driving stick shift.
