with all this talk about Stanza wagons (thanks DailyTurismo :) ) I figured I would embark on a search. 4x4, stick, brownish, $800. Washington/PNW Oppos, do yourself and all of Oppo a solid. Sounds like it has a vacuum leak.

I saw a Tercel SR5 Tuesday. Also a Scooby 4x4 two-door GL hatch, but that was less of a pleasant surprise, since it was in the same place I'd seen it before.

Nope, pretty well kept. The paint isn't too good and the trim is in some disarray, but the body and mechanicals seem to be sound. It parks at City Foreign Auto Supply, so it may belong to one of the guys who works there.

This one is cheap repainted black. Might be gray inside - unsure. The first time I saw it I was like "Ooh, Scooby hatch", and then the second time my attention was focused on making sure it was a 4wd (because a lot aren't). Golly gee, it actually was.

Starts dreaming... I just saw it's in Leavenworth. That's where that red '95 S6 Avant I was going to fly up for is. Guy decided to keep it. Hmm... fly up for Stanza, find S6 guy, wave cash at him... buy 2 weird 4wd wagons, tow Stanza home with S6? Stop at OTR to crew my buddy's Juke... Wakes up.

I would keep one forever. I had spousal approval, and was literally shopping plane tickets when the guy emailed & said he's keeping it. It was dialed in, too. Red/black, stacks of records, a few mods, $7400. More than I was looking to spend on a car, but it was a total unicorn Coelacanth.
