I'm currently bassless, but I hope to rectify that soon. Previously I had an Ibanez ATK400 (first release, absolute GEM) then an SRX700 (not as good as that ATK but did the job)

I think I'm going to save my pennies and get one of them new ATK810s. I'm getting a chub just thinking about it and, yeah, I guess I'm a bit of an Ibanez whore

A list of great bassists without John Entwistle in it is invalid. The fact that Bootsy Collins is also omitted just reinforces it but you're not wrong in your placing James Jamerson high on the list. I might throw Duck Dunn on the list too, but I'm a big fan of Stax Records stuff.

Everyone's list is different, brother. I fought with adding John Entwistle for a very long time. Remember this is a top 10, not a 15 or 20 or 45 or gof I idolize too many bassists I need to check my priorities

That's awesome! I am just learning and from what I understand my bass is a piece of junk (which in my opinion makes it totally Jalop). I love the way it sounds and I think it's bad ass. I don't care what anyone says. It was a gift and therefore it's a treasure to me.

Post a pick of your Ibanez axe when you get the scratch for it!

There is no Entwistle, no Palladino, and a host of others.. and I'd put dozens ahead of a few others (Flea and Erikson notably)...

But it's an opinion list. And opinions... well.. =)
