So, i found this earlier today and i can't believe on what i just saw. It's a 1996 Mercedes-Benz 600SEL Guard, with B7 Armor and all the things, that used to transport none other than Indonesian President, For Sale!

The owner said he got that car (legally) just recently from a secret auction, and rather than using it as a daily drive, he decide to sell it because the running cost were astronomical. He said the sets of brake pads and master brake alone cost about the same as Toyota Corolla. The tires were made from solid block of unobtanium and could only obtained in Mercedes-Benz dealership. So when your tires is out you have to replace the whole rim as well.

He also said the gas mileage is really terrible, and it doesn't feel that fast, saying that even a W140 S420 feels faster than this. Still, it must be feels like a genuine dictator/drug lord/some kind of mafia inside. It even comes with little flag holder to hold whatever flag you desire. (Can i suggest we made some kind of Oppo National Flag?)

Here's that very car in action, transporting (now ex) President of Indonesia, Mr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

Yes the gas mileage will be terrible, it won't be very fast for a trackday, and everybody will move out from your way when you drive it around. All this luxury for a very reasonable 76,999 USD.

Would you?

I would if i can afford it. I mean, rather than buying something exotic like Lamborghini or Ferrari, i rather unleash my dictator side and drive one of these.

Unless you are a real target, B7 armoring is a bit too much. Find a B3A armoring S600 and be a true mafia boss.

Well, i used to be a member of W140 community here in Indonesia, and they said Mercedes Indonesia only import armored cars on special request, and they're either B6 or B7 level..

Still, better safe than sorry lol :D

According to the interweb, The S600 W221 weighs about 5000lbs while the Guard is a bit heavier, at arround 9300lbs. That means the Armour alone is about 4300lbs.

And i believe there's more in W140.
