I bought something today! I've had it picked out since Sunday and have been waiting for them to be repainted...

Here they are!

Wheels are VW Denver 17x7.5 made by Ronal

Pirellis are 225/45ZR17

Continentals are 225/45R17 91H

Wheels also have the TPMS sensors installed!

Top tires are the Pirellis, right side are the old Continentals (probably OEM)

The guy was even kind enough to throw in the three surviving Continental ContiProContacts that were on the wheels originally! I'll get the Pirellis mounted tomorrow and hopefully sell the Contis to a used tire shop lol

What did they look like originally? How much was the repainting/refinishing?

Nice, I kinda like those wheels better than the Detroits (same design, 18", machined face).

I picked up some new wheels recently too. The stock wheels that I installed the winters on are finally off and replaced with 17" Genevas likely sporting the same Contis as you just picked up as they're the stock tire on a lot of VWs.

I would prefer the Detroits, but the ride is so much worse... and a set would be like $700

Yeah, I thought about going to 18s but I chose not to compromise the ride too badly as well. I was almost tempted by a set of Austins (current GTI) which would've been $900 for the wheels only (brand new, swapped off a GTI). These were also $900 but that includes the tires, which were equally as new as the wheels.

For me it $400 for EVERYTHING in the first picture... 7 tires and 4 (basically) brand new wheels

These wheels make a really handy attachment for your cuisinart food processor. They slice to most lovely french fries.
