Full disclosure, Josh Taylor ( !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ) made !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! quiz and it's something we're considering adding more of if well received. It's 33 questions and spans from the E30 to the F80.
I'd post the entire quiz here but not sure how to do so... so here's a link instead.

I apparently know precisely fuck-all about M3s.

I'm not much of a BMW guy, so I'm probably going to bomb this.
Oh well, here we go.

16 out of 34
14 were lucky guesses

18! There are some very tough ones!

I know a lot about M3s. Like, a lot. But that's pedantic.

I got 10 right. Of those 10, probably 7 or 8 were just lucky guesses.

Same.

Some of the questions include details I don't even know about my own car...
![]() 04/09/2015 at 14:39 |

That was... hard. The sarcasm you get with wrong answers was pretty funny, though.

I know nothing!! I got 9 right, mostly were lucky guesses.....

I got answers right and it told me I was wrong....
![]() 04/09/2015 at 15:43 |
|
Then you were actually wrong.

motorsport painted valve cover.. evo2.. told me I was wrong.
![]() 04/09/2015 at 15:56 |

technicality, evolution, although I've only heard them referres to as evo 2's.

18/34 and I consider myself a pretty astute M3 nerd. Basically a third of the quiz is random E30 M3 development trivia. If you don't worship the S14 you're going to bomb it.
I mean... I guess it is possible that someone knows that stuff. Maybe a German who worked for BMW in the 80s?

That was my favorite part about choosing 16 wrong answers.

The M-DKG one was particularly heinous. I was like, I KNOW THIS ANSWER!, and it wasn't there. If I'd thought a second, I'd have remembered that "kupplung" was clutch in German and realized that they were using the non-English acronym.
Porsche sees no problem using PDK everywhere, fwiw.

iirc there was 3 homologating specials. evolution (also known as evo 1 (505 produced)), evo 2 (500 produced), even then the sport evolution
![]() 04/09/2015 at 16:36 |

Yes I reasoned myself into the "correct" answer on that one because of my PDK knowledge. I think I'm the only person in a 3mi radius who actually knows what it stands for, which is saying something in Philadelphia lol

and in between, you had cecotto, ravaglia, europmeister... all of those were evo 2's as well, just different editions. evo2 ( or what I call an evo 2) had the wedge lower front spoiler and the under wing rear gurney flap.

Whoever Randy "Probst" is, he better watch out for this guy:
