Today's Amazon Daily Deal is an OBD-II Bluetooth adapter.
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
I've been using it for months now and it's pretty sweet. Reads info, scan and clear codes, etc. $15 w/prime . (I don't get any perks or kickbacks from this.. just passing the savings on to Oppoland)

Wonder if this would work on my GTI with my iPhone. Almost an impulse buy at that price.

Due to the Chinese bluetooth signing these only work with Android devices. For an iPhone you need a wifi version

For iOS you want this one:

These work quite well with Android devices and I have a couple of them. I use Touchscan for the daily drivers and Torque for the fun car

Ah, thanks for the heads up! Not bad for only $2 more.

Yeah just Android. Used Android phones and even small tablets are so cheap to come by now I've seen people using them as dedicated devices for their car. Hell most Android users have 1 or 2 laying around from previous upgrades if you can find one.

Welp...talk about an impulse buy. I just bought one and it will be at my house by 9 pm tonight. I had a $20 Amazon gift card on there that I forgot about. This could be fun! (Regular shipping would have gotten it to my house Wednesday, the shipping that cost me an additional $3.47 will be here by tonight, I'm ok with that)

I'm a big fan of torque, really helps out when your car pulls a WTF moment. And with it I was able to diagnose a blinking cel then know to replace which specific coil pack and injector that was causing the problem. Saved me a good chunk of money I bet instead of taking it to a shop and getting reamed over "diagnostic fees".

Well, look what you just did. It'll arrive Saturday, and be a good addition to my tool box.

I had one plugged in to the WRX on the way to NH and back (300 miles) its definitely fin to watch/mildly distracting. We'd time my 0-60s out of the toll booths.

Just an FYI for anyone that didn't catch it, there are 3 colors available at the same price. Black, blue and orange. :D Just ordered mine, thanks for the heads up on this great deal!

So do these iOS OBD devices work with any app in the appstore or what? There are a shitload of apps at different prices so it's hard to know what is best.
![]() 04/09/2015 at 10:46 |

I do not know what app you need.

You're supposed to have the answers!

How well does this work? I was reading some of the reviews and it seems like the CD comes with pirated software and the statement "Supports all OBD-II Protocols" is not entirely correct. I have a 2010 Explorer and a 2011 Aveo and I just want to make sure it will work with them before buying it.

sorry bro

I have no idea what the CD even had on it. It got canned.
All you need is an obd-ii equipt vehicle, Android device with Bluetooth and an app (I use Torque).
plug it in, pair your phone with the device, run the app, ta-da

Sounds pretty straight forward to me. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!
