I've got one and love it. But then I never read anywhere that it is supposed to get 28mpg's. Not sure what that guy was smoking, but it was good.

I'm rolling my eyes hard here. Here's someone who probably has no need for a truck and wants to drive with a lead foot.

Which is exactly who the Ram is for. Not that there's anything wrong with the Ram, it's just the better truck for someone who wants a truck that doesn't need it to be a good truck but rather a good car.

The MPG is flat out bullshit from Ford, though they don't claim anywhere near 28, I suspect that was the dealer that cooked up that claim. The power isn't overhyped though, they make power lower than a Hemi or LS/LT could even imagine, and they are a flash and a couple bolt on's away from 500hp.

Ontario? Don't they measure fuel consumption in hectametres per decilitre or some crap, not MPG?

At least according to the EPA, the previous-gen F-150 with the 3.5L EcoBoost is rated for 15/17/21 (city/combined/highway) mpg .

So...depending on driving habits, 16 mpg sounds about right.

Given my moms 2.0T Fusion FWD is still only getting an average of 24 mpg and driven nearly entirely on the highway, yes it is hype.

At least it makes up for it by being pretty fast and handling well.

The numbers you linked are to the 2015 which is the aluminum bodied truck which will have noticeably better mileage than his 2011-2014 era truck. Even on those trucks the best I'm seeing is 9.2L/100km (25.6 mpg US, 30.7 mpg UK) for the 2.7L engine in a 2x4 which wasn't available in the 2011-2014 trucks.

Looking at the 2014 trucks which would be representative of his the best is 8.6L/100km (27.4 mpg US, 32.9 mpg UK) with the 3.7L in 2x4. Since he has the 3.5EB and I'm going to assume 4x4 even though I can't see the sides it would give 9.6L/100km (24.5 mpg US, 29.4 mpg UK). Canada must have a different cycle to determine mileage because the US website lists the mileage as 15/21/17 mpg. Having 4 years on mine the mileage is right in line with the US numbers. I get a little worse than that but I have a heavy foot and a crappy daily drive for mileage. I have gotten almost 22 mpg on a long highway trip at reasonable speeds with light traffic and have averaged 15.6 mpg even with liberal use of the remote starter in the winter.

Three things have combined to piss this guy off. First he's an idiot. Second Canada has an effed up test cycle that gives wildly optimistic numbers and third he seems to believe that he doesn't drive in a city type cycle ever (see point 1).
