The FSAE car is pretty much done (initially). Still have a mountain of testing, tuning, shaking down, and working out to do, but to have a full running car is no small feat.

If it was really cold in there these guys might get a pass, but otherwise they need to learn to stand with some presence!

I wish there were a venue and vendor for selling this sort of stuff to the public for track use.

I was superficially attached to an FSAE team when I was in college... mostly as a go-fer assistant to the engineering students who were actually monopolizing most of the interesting stuff...

I never even got to drive the car... I did however drive the van all the way to detroit and back...

I can imagine a world in which regular enthusiasts could buy pre-built chassis like this, for sport-bike engine installation, and basically make grown-up-go-karts for track days on full-size tracks, or autocross courses...

And not as expensive as an Ariel Atom... which is kind of antithetical to the purpose of a car like Ariel Atom, to have to be so expensive that it is a concern.

I can only imagine something like this with a monster BMW K1600 I6 engine... or completely nuts with a Kawasaki H2 engine...

Looks like its coming along nicely. I miss working on ours. Drove a few of them at the local autoX's too, and once in comp. They are like nothing else out there, so much fun to drive around.
