Truly a hero fighting against white nationalism.

I particularly liked Best in Hooper , possibly the best Burt Reynolds movie. Yes, better than Smokey and the Bandit. It had a great cast, and was just a whole lot of fun. Yes, that's Terry Bradshaw.

My parents occasionally drag out the old story of me when I was a young kid, probably no more than 4 or 5 years old, sitting in the back seat of the family car, when my dad got pulled over by a cop...
...reportedly, I asked if the officer was "Roscoe P. Coltrane" in a distinct attempt to do an impersonation of his accent, within the officer's earshot.
RIP James Best. Thanks for the entertainment.
He was also good in a non-comedic role... I have seen him in other western TV shows, and he had much more gravitas than 'Roscoe' would suggest.
I also think the character name was named Roscoe P Colt rane as a reference to revolvers, especially police-issue, of which many were Colt manufactured, being colloquially called "a roscoe", and the basically being Boss Hogg's hired gun with a badge.

Those are actually pretty neat. Dangerous, but neat.

Well, when I say "awesome", I am speaking as the kid I was 37 years ago. I was 12 when this movie came out.

Actually, I say "neat" as in "I wouldn't want to drive it on the streets, but that thing would be perfect for spotlighting vermin on ranches".
