I was at Lowes the other day and heard this. Then I realized the last time I heard this song I was at Walgreens. Pretty confident I was on the only one singing along in the aisles.
Come to think of it, the last time I heard Jem was in an aisle as well. Hey, dark haired girls from the commonwealth. I think i see a pattern here.

Anything by Matchbox 20. I work at a grocery store that likes to loop early 2000s pop hits

LOL. I don't mean music that deserves no play, I mean music that deserves more play than it gets.
Besides, what else would I listen to when I want to wear a trench coat and stretch pants?

The screams of the ones banished to darkness for all eternity.

They play that at your Lowes? Which location if you don't mind me asking? It's Kansas City Kansas isn't it? I hear they have a street level entrance to hell there.

You know, I liked Duran Duran as a kid. They had nudey girls in their Euro-only videos after all. But now that I'm almost 40 and I listen back to the Duran Duran that was not on the radio, they had some good fucking songs.

Yeah, I actually like Duran Duran alot. I wasn't kidding. People laugh at me when I say that I like them, but I have a trick I play on them. Once separated from that conversation a bit, I play Rio. Without fail, no one recognizes what it is and remarks "wow, this is funky" until the chorus hits. Then they realize what they're listening to. I've gotten so many of my friends into them that way.

I sometimes call that 'lowest common denominator pop'

I heard some REM at the grocery store the other day. Had to restrain from rocking out to the grocery tunes.

Some kids pretend to talk in British accents because it's exotic and sophisticated. For some reason my boys (8 and 11) have chosen Lawn Guyland as their accent of choice. (We're in St Louis). They have whole conversations in the backseat sounding like Long Island Medium. I swear I'm going to get them fake nails and spiky blond hair and some outrageous heels.

I loaded the Green album on my kids' tablet. That music is cannon by now.

I thought if they wore abercrombie, they just went without a shirt entirely?

They understood the point of a song that is just long enough. Then the world met Eddie Vedder and songs went on and on and on and on and on and on...

I'm not sure if you're joking but World Leader Pretend is 4:20 long.
82 of the 183 tracks on my iPod are over 4 minutes.

I used to HATE Duran Duran when I was younger. But I have come to really appreciate some of their music. Since you mentioned it, take Rio for instance. If you listen to that song on a CD you can really tell the depth of layering they did with their music. It's quite incredible, really.

Actually no, I wasn't joking. Yes, that song was long and California was longer, but look at the other tracks.
Pearl Jam could go 6-7 minutes. Damn, I'm bored by now

Yeah, Pearl Jam songs always feel waaaaay to long to me.

I had a passing level of like/amusement regarding Duran Duran until I started really listening to bass. Mein Gott, John Taylor is underrated.

Yeah, he's one of my favorite bassists. It's no wonder that Nile Rodgers likes working with him so much. You can really hear the Bernard Edwards influence, and he's just as tasty.
